ADMISSION ON
THE BASIS OF SPORTS
1. Admission on the basis of Sports will be finalised by the College on the
recommendations made by the Committee consisting of the Principal, Director of Physical Education,
some teachers and students associated with sports (to be constituted for the
purpose.)
2. The Committee shall screen the applicants through an interview and
ascertain their competence through an actual trial at the
Sports Field.
3. The following will be the order of preference in selection of the
candidates for admission on the basis of sports. Order of preference for admission in the
undergraduate courses will be determined, if the applicant has :
(a) Represented India in any event/game during
the last 3 years.
(b) Secured Ist, 2nd or 3rd position in any
event/game in Jr. National Level Tournament during the last 3 years.
(c) Secured Ist, 2nd or 3rd position in any
event/game in National Schools Games during the last 3 years.
(d) Secured Ist, 2nd or 3rd position in all
India Public School games during the last 3 years.
(e) Represented the state meet whose
performance is Ist, 2nd or 3rd both in the Individual and team in All Indian Rural Sports
during the last 3 years.
(f) Secured Ist, 2nd or 3rd position in
any event/game in the State School Championship during the last 3 years.
(g) Secured Ist, 2nd or 3rd position in Zonal
games during the last 3 years of state Schools.
The list of the candidates called for interview will be displayed on the College notice
board. The candidates are required to present themselves for interview on the dates
mentioned against their names.
The student(s) admitted on sports basis are required to attend 2/3 classes of practices
before the starting of Inter College Tournaments which is compulsory failing which she
will not be allowed to appear in the University Examinaton(s). Students absenting
themselves from sports practice will also be fined Rs.20/ -per practice per day during
their stay in the College. In case of wilful absence, fine can be increased upto Rs.50/-
per day.
They are also required to give an undertaking duly signed by their parents regarding their
punctuality for practices and participation in matches and sports activities.
The students admitted on sports basis are required to submit medical fitness certificate
from an M.B.B.S. Doctor.
Students failing to attend sports practice under any circumstances -even on medical
grounds (if they are declared medically unfit by the Doctor later on i.e. after admission)
shall not be allowed to continue their studies in the College. They will be required to
withdraw their names or their names will be struck off from the College Rolls.
After admission, a candidate will have to purchase prescribed College uniform.
At the time of interview all the candidates will be required to bring all the certificates
in original and attested copies along with two attested copies of passport size
photographs.
List of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on the Notice Board on the
same day or the day following the interview. It will be the responsibility of the
candidates to make a note of their selection and pay the fees within the stipulated
period. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of her admission. |
