SPM college has
established its reputation and place in front line of games. Participation in sports
not only helps in the physical development of the students , but is also an extra
qualification for admission to institutions of higher education. Various arrangements
exist for Kho- Kho, Athletics, kabaddi, soft ball,cricket and Hand ball.
This
year our college has started an academy for cricket which has been named as "SPM CRICKET ACADEMY"
. Ms. Lalita Sharma participated in Inter
University Cricket Championship held in Indore, in Junior National Championship held
in Hyderabad as well as North Zone Cricket Championship in Sangroor.
Training
for "YOGA AND AEROBICS" has been provided throughout the year
under the guidance of Miss. Uma Mittal and Miss.Sunita Sharma . Our students participated
in yoga at State level and National Level and performed well. Geetesh and Babita bagged
third prize in these competitions.
Delhi
University organized "HALF MARATHAN" (21 Kms.) in which
our student Ms. Sheela stood third in the University.
Our
"Kho - Kho" Team Captain Ms.Babita participated in North
Zone Kho-Kho Championship organised in Merrut. Under Inter University Competitions, she
has represented Delhi University in "Women Festival, Rohtak".
Ms.
Arti has represented Delhi University in "Inter University Soft Ball
Championship". Ms. Arti and Ms. Snehlata has also participated in "Senior
National Soft Ball Championship" held in Agra.
Ms.
Poonam Gulia and Geetesh scored third rank in Kabaddi during
"Womens' Festival" organised in Pondicherry.
Our
four students Ms. Jyoti Singh, Ms. Suman, Ms. Amrita Dalal and Ms. Chanchal
played Hand ball in "Junior National" and won third
prize.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT
Miss Lalita Sharma and Babita were
selected to participate in International Inter Religious Sports Festival held in South
Korea. Both of them were members of Basket Ball Team which won IInd position. Miss Lalita
performed Judo and Babita performed Yogic exercises which was highly appreciated. Mrs
Manjeet Madan was manager of Indian Contingent in Korea. The whole
contingent was of
25 students of India which won 28 medals.
